Pilot reveals what it’s like flying a ‘mile high club’ plane that’s taken 3,000 flights

If you have always fancied joining the mile high club but don’t want to run the risk of getting reprimanded for public indecency, booking a flight with Captain Anthony ‘Tony’ Blake might be the perfect solution for you.

The businessman, who has 42 years of experience sitting inside the cockpit, has decided to capitalise on people’s craving to have sex in the clouds by setting up a firm which offer flights where coitus is not only permitted, but encouraged.

The US-based tour operator, Love Cloud Vegas, has already conducted a whopping 3,000 ‘mile high experience’ trips in its twin-engine Cessna 414 aircraft over the last four years, so there is certainly a demand for it.

Blake, who is co-founder of the company and chief pilot, explained that up to four people can climb on board to get frisky while he flies them over the Las Vegas desert and Sin City’s iconic strip.

Punters can get comfortable on the double bed installed in the back of the plane, which is decked out with red satin sheets, sex position pillows and cushions, as well as a custom foam mattress.

Instead of trying to cram into a tiny toilet with your partner like most mile high club members do, you can simply shut the privacy curtain that is situated between the flight deck so that the pilot doesn’t disturb your fun.

Blake joked that for this reason, the team at Love Cloud Vegas are ‘not allowed to call it the cockpit anymore’.

While you are relaxing and making the most of the ‘romantic interiors’, the pilot will also be sporting a noise cancelling headset – meaning you can be as loud as you like.

Despite all this kit to protect your privacy though, there is still one way pilots can tell what you’re up to.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, Blake said: “If those wings are clapping, we know something’s going down in the back. We don’t know exactly what but we’re pretty sure…that they understood the assignment.

“It’s a very private, romantic date night. We do feel it. I like to say I have a very sensitive joystick upfront. They move their feet and move to the back. I feel it. It’s a smaller mid-size aircraft. And we feel everything – unfortunately.”

But chances are the captain will be concentrating on the conversations they are having with air traffic controllers rather than the noises you might be making, as Love Cloud Vegas flights are ‘flying in very restricted airspace’.

Blake explained: “On Friday nights and Sunday nights, generally, we are the busiest in the country.

“We’re doing a circle in and out, down, under and around the airspace. We have probably at any given moment – 24 hours a day – 50 pilots taking off, 50 pilots landing.

“We’re constantly hearing directional vectors – if we miss two calls, my 42-year licence is out the window. So it’s very busy in my ears.”

For those who fear the curtain might fall down or swing open if the pilot makes a sharp turn, Blake insists that they have ‘never come down once by accident on a flight’, so you can leave your inhibitions at the air strip you take off from.

The experienced pilot explained that pretty much anything is ‘fair game’ for those who book the mile high experience, but some people really push the boat out and bring ‘toy bags’, arrive in ‘sexy lingerie’ or ‘blindfold’ their partner.

Due to this, Love Cloud Vegas say that they typically ‘toss’ away the sheets on the bed after every flight.

Blake explained that out of the four planes they have, there is a window of up to an hour between flights which allows the ground crew to thoroughly clean the place and remake the bed.

He said: “Once last year, we bought all the red satin sheets that Google has. We are buying like 500 a month. We have bed-liners and the beds themselves get tossed out about every 60 days – these are the cleanest beds in the city.”
