Use Of Technology In Hospitals

There are many use cases and improvements to the present Healthcare by using Technology. A few decades ago, the people in the hospital such as nurses and doctors did not rely on Technology for taking care of their patients. All the details were written on notepads and papers. The nurses used to have a big schedule board to understand what is needed for each patient. But it’s not the same anymore. Using Technology, a person’s whole health history can be retrieved by using a single ID number. And this is an amazing thing for the doctors. They will be able to treat the patient very quickly instead of searching what the patient’s blood type. And what kind of history Genetics the patient has.

Both the patients and the administration benefit from using technology in hospitals. Another use case is the robotic surgery machines which can do a lot of the surgeries that doctors do. This does not mean that the machines will replace the doctors. That will never happen anytime soon. What I mean is the doctors will be able to control the robot arms which will do exactly to the micrometer. By doing that, there will be very little chance of human error. And the patients will be a lot safer.

Nowadays a lot of research scientists in hospitals and organisations are using AI Technology to develop vaccines for different diseases. Normally it would take many years to do what the technology is doing. This will benefit the patients a lot.

Changes in the ER

Most emergency cases that are received in the ER need to go to scanning. This includes CT scans and MRI scans. A few years ago, the CT scan used to be very blurry. But now due to technology, the machines can understand what needs to be shown and what needs to be avoided. That way the doctors can easily identify the problem and fix it in surgery.

The whole electronic database is based on the technology used in the hospitals. The doctors and nurses do not need to worry if the patient might be lying. With their data, they can understand what is the issue and how to solve their pain. All this is done using amazing technological advancements.

In the past, the number of medical errors in hospitals and clinics cost the US economy nearly 20 billion dollars a year. By reducing this number after using Technology, that amount can be spent towards a better cause. Most of the errors that happen in hospitals are due to human issues. Such as misunderstanding, wrong information from the patient, etc.

The Future Generation

The future doctors who are currently practicing are learning to use that Technology. So when they enter the field to help patients, they will already know how to use it. The future generation is a lot more dependent on that Technology. It makes helping the patients a lot easier

By having all the information about the patient in one place. The software can track the user’s changes over time. That way they can understand what is wrong and what to do. This would normally be very hard to do with human interaction. Because there would be a lot of errors such as time issues, honesty, and many more. But with the technology, it automatically tracks the patient’s surgery, medications, and others.

One of the most used technology in the hospital management system is a pager. A Pager is a device that is used to inform doctors about their patients immediately. This is a lot different to a phone. The doctors never turn off their pagers because it’s very important to them.

But there are a few issues as well when they become too dependent on that technology. They might have a problem when that stops. Because in the past such things have already happened. There have been a few cases where the hospital system was hacked by unknown groups. They locked all the details of their patients and demanded money. At times like that the doctors and nurses should be able to co-ordinate properly. There are also times when the technology fails. The doctor should be able to get hands-on and do the operation. Because it is a life-and-death situation.

But in the end, Technology makes the hospital system a lot better. Because the health care of patients is what is most important.
